August 15 & 16
Silverton Fine Arts Festival
Silverton, Oregon
The Silverton Fine Arts Festival is a recent addition to the events calendar in our region and has quickly become a popular summertime activity. Quality and diversity have been key ingredients in planning all aspects of the event. Highlights include:

A select group of juried art vendors from the Northwest region
An outstanding entertainment line-up featuring noted jazz, blues and cultural music groups
Opportunities to participate in a wide variety of hands-on art demonstration activities
A food court presentation of diverse and savory menu choices
Continuous entertainment and art projects for kids of all ages

The setting contributes to a memorable outing. Coolidge-McClaine Park, with its sprawling oak trees and creek side location, borders charming and historic downtown Silverton. The Oregon Garden is minutes away and Silver Falls State Park is less than fifteen miles from the festival site.
The festival is a comfortable one-hour drive from most anywhere in the greater Portland area, just over an hour from Eugene and Springfield, and just fifteen minutes from Salem. Once you arrive, convenient, complimentary festival shuttle service is available at several parking locations.
This is definitely an event worth highlighting on your summer schedule.

August 28-30
Art in the High Desert
Bend, Oregon
Art in the High Desert is produced by a non-profit, community-based group of local area artists and art advocates.

Our mission is to bring to the community an annual high quality art festival that explores and celebrates professional creative expression while enhancing the artistic identity of Central Oregon. We strive to give back to the community by supporting the positive economic impact of the visual arts while honoring the artists for the value and skill of their handmade work.

It is important to the board that this festival is a community-based event not only in offering the finest in visual arts to the Central Oregon community, but also in involving community businesses, organizations, and individuals in the festival.
